How to Choose Your First Recurve Bow (Beginner's Guide)
Share
Choosing your first bow can feel like a lot of decisions. A few clear questions can help you compare products and get the right guidance before you buy. This guide does not replace model-specific instructions or advice from a qualified archery instructor.
Start with your own fit
Ask an instructor to help assess your draw length, a manageable draw weight and the appropriate handedness. One weight or bow length will not suit everyone, and a product’s listed dimensions alone do not establish a good fit.
Compare the exact model and option
In our Bows & Archery collection, check the selected variant’s stated draw weight, dimensions, handedness and package contents. Different sets can include different accessories. If a detail is unclear, we are happy to help check it before you order.
Check the manufacturer’s instructions
Before choosing replacement limbs, strings, arrows or other accessories, confirm compatibility with the exact model. Please do not assume that parts from different sets are interchangeable.
Plan where you will practise
A supervised archery range can help you get started with appropriate equipment and instruction. Confirm local requirements and range rules before use. We cannot verify the safety of a backyard setup, or promise that a straw bale, foam target or household material will stop every projectile.
A little support before you choose
Send us the product link and the option you are considering. We can help clarify the listed specifications and what is included, while your instructor helps assess fit and safe use.
